Your Right to Submit Your Work

Rights granted to Drake University through this agreement are non-exclusive. You are free to publish the Work in its present or future version(s) elsewhere and no ownership is assumed by Drake University, Cowles Library, or Pressbooks when storing the work.

By agreeing to this user agreement, you (the author(s), copyright owner or assignee), grant a non-exclusive license to Drake University that authorizes the following:

  1. You are the author, copyright holder or assignee and have authority to make this agreement, and give the repository the right to publish the Work in a repository.
  2. That the Work is original and does not, to the best of your knowledge, infringe upon anyone’s copyright.

Acceptable Use

All work must be published using Creative Commons Licenses to ensure open access and, whenever possible, encourage reuse. Until publication, work may be retained as private.

Whenever possible, works published in Drake Pressbooks–whether original or adapted from other Open Educational Resources–should be used to replace commercial textbooks and resources used to deliver course content.

Drake Pressbooks may NOT be used for:

  • Commercial activities unrelated to Drake University.
  • Works with All Rights Reserved copyright licenses.
  • Long-term storage of and access to research publications. The Library provides eScholarShare for this purpose.
  • Activities related to harassment, discrimination or other forms of unacceptable behavior outlined by the University.

Creative Commons Licensing

Authors should follow Creative Commons recommendations and fair use best practices for reusing and repurposing existing works.

Changes to the Service
